The Member State-led Open Working Group (OWG) on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) released their final report on 19 July 2014. The full OWG Report is available via this link: http://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/focussdgs.html

The report serves as the main basis for integrating the sustainable development goals into the future development agenda and the Member State negotiations to take place over the next several months.

There is an e-consultation on this OWG report, in order to gather viewpoints and recommendations. Your contributions will serve as an important contribution to the deliberation processes that will ultimately culminate in the creation of the official Post-2015 Development Agenda.

The consultation consists of two questions:

1. Please read the recent OWG "outcome document"/proposal regarding sustainable development goals for Post-2015. What do you think about the recommendations of the Open Working Group? What are the strong points?

2. What do you think needs to be added to the current Open Working Group proposal?

The e-consultation takes place from 15 September to 15 October 2014 and a summary of the consultation will be posted shortly thereafter.

• The first meeting, in London, UK, will focus on household poverty. The global online consultation for this meeting focuses on four questions:
  • How do we ensure that all people, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized, have the food, water, energy, health care and education they need?
  • What have we learned from existing Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and what should be added/updated/modified, or is a different approach needed?
  • What policies and practices best promote equitable empowerment of the poor and marginalized to ensure an adequate standard of living?
  • How can employment be meaningfully approached?

• The second meeting, in Monrovia, Liberia, will focus on national development

• The third meeting, in Bali, Indonesia, will focus on global partnerships.
