UNCTs should leverage expertise from across the development system in the Cooperation Framework process. In addition to knowledge and technical resources within the UNCT, the UN Sustainable Development Group is committed to creating a community of practice to support SDG implementation. Initiatives such as a MAPS engagement271 or regional “cluster” mechanisms can bring together a tailored coalition of UN and other experts to help augment UNCT capacity. They can provide support and solutions for such issues as enabling multistakeholder engagement; identifying policy accelerators; analysing and utilizing all forms of data; analysing SDG financing flows and strengthening financing partnerships. This will ensure that UNCTs expand capacities at a critical point while better connecting regional-level engagements to the core work of the UNCT.
